Separating internal and billable hours

In extro you can separate internal hours and billable hours when recording time. This provides transparency about what is evaluated internally and what is charged to the customer.
 

• Billable hours
  → appear on invoices and reports

• Internal hours (work effort)
  → appear in the project overview and under project hours
  → are not relevant to the customer

The setting is configured for each time entry.

Procedure

1. Open time tracking
   • Open the job
   • Open the Work section
   • Record a time entry

2. Toggle 
   • Both toggles are active by default:
     • Work effort
     • Show entry

→ This allows internal effort and billable effort to be recorded.

 

Show entry = active

• Work effort and billable effort are visible

• If time is recorded for work effort
  → this value is automatically transferred to billable effort

• Billable effort can be adjusted manually

Result:

• Effort appears in the report

• Effort appears on the invoice

• Effort appears under project hours

 

Show entry = inactive

• Work effort can still be recorded

• Show entry is deactivated

Result:

• Effort remains internal

• Effort does not appear on the invoice

• Effort continues to appear under project hours
